Our twins arrived safely on January 2nd, 2012:We couldn't be happier or more sleep-deprived. :) Saith Rudolph was born at 12:18pm, weighing 6 lbs, 1 ozand sisterNeva Marie was born at 12:22pm, weighing 5 lbs,  3 oz. Our nieces and nephew came over for a mini photo session the other weekend.It started to snow lightly but the troops braved the outdoors for a little while. I love the effect that the snow has...adds a touch of innocence to the photo. Mark & Krista had a cute little family wedding outdoors in her parents' beautiful gardens. The wedding was vintage-themed, and it inspired my photo editing style. Aww, what a fun morning! This pretty little girl was just in no mood for photos.  Mom said she cut a tooth the next day, so I guess that's why! poor thing... she was in pain! I was really looking forward to this particular mini-session ... How funny (and cute!) were these little guys! Very hard to tell apart, but they cooperated quite nicely for photos... well, mostly. Ahh, for fun!So happy it worked out to catch you guys in MN for your engagement photos! Their gracious friends let us use their dining room with some amazing afternoon window light for a studio... These photos are 100% natural light (my fave-if at all possible) Used a 42in Silver sided circular reflector on one side to bounce some fill light back into the photo. Then on to brave the cold...

What great timing that my mother was able to have all her family together for less than 24 hours to do some family photos at the gardens down the road.I had just flown back from Alaska.  Nate had just drove down from up north.  Boys were all in town. Still more "sunny" photos here! Robert's schedule is quite busy being in sports, but we were lucky to get another great day for photos.A whole new realm for me photographing Senior guys, but he was a great sport. What a simple, beautiful ceremony last weekend!Janis and Mike wanted me to take some formal portraits of their wedding . . . which I got plenty of :) ... but in being true to my style I had to take a few outdoor photos and moments, too.  Congratulations, Mike and Janis!!It was an honor to witness your wedding.All the best in your life together.

Wow, it's been a beautiful week here in Alaska . . . I've gotten to photograph some more beautiful seniors! All week long . . . sunny . . . no clouds . . . 70ish temps. It's amazing. And it's mid-September . . .In Alaska!!  So, my skills have been tested for shooting in sun. As most photographers know, overcast is the most soft and (easy?) light to shoot in, but sun can be awesome, too . . .

On a 55 degree rain soaked August 8, 2010 in Sitka, Alaska, 7 swimmers swam a historic first swim race 10k/5k race in approximately 53 degree temperature water---and to raise funds for American Diabetes Association.
